Commodity Markets Oversight Coalition

What Is the CMOC?

Formed in January of 2007 the Commodity Markets Oversight Coalition (CMOC) is a broad and informal coalition of industry and trade associations, business and consumer advocacy groups, faith-based and social justice organizations, and academics and other experts that seek greater oversight, transparency and accountability in the commodities futures markets, where oil and other vital consumer commodities are traded. Participating organizations and individuals represent an array of interests, from agriculture to energy, commodity producers, distributors, refiners, storage companies, transporters, retailers and end-users/consumers.

CMOC participants have actively advocated for reform, and have produced many letters and other communications to the President, Congress and federal regulators. Many have also testified before Congress or regulatory agencies. Below you will find additional information on CMOC and its actions and efforts.
